A Knife Gift for Christmas

Posted by TestOut Staff on

I recently celebrated another birthday, and although I’m getting on in years, at heart I’m still a boy. And like most boys, I like knives. The Marine Ka-Bar, Gurkha kukri, anything made of Damascus steel, and of course the Turkana wrist-knife — I love em all.

Swiss Army Knife

While doing a bit of Christmas shopping I came across the Wenger Giant Swiss Army Knife — truly the “Mother-of-all knives.” Guinness World Records deems it the “World’s Most Functional Penknife." And by “functional,” they mean anything! This is the knife that will get you through the Zombie Apocalypse. Owning one probably makes you automatically king of Switzerland. It is 8.75 inches long, and includes 87 implements to perform 141 functions. It is literally 1.3 kg of AWESOMNESS!

Unfortunately, it’s a bit pricey at $4,000. When I showed the missus she looked at me like I was out of my mind, and said “Why do you want that? You’ll either cut accidently yourself, or lose it like you did your last knife.” I tried my best to convince her we couldn’t live without a “detachable chain-rivet setter,” and the “integrated swiveling compass with sight line” readily at hand. Alas, my pleas fell on deaf ears. I retreated into the TV room for some well-deserved sulking.

Fortunately, if like me, your practical spouse won’t let you have your MacGyver moment, there are a few other great gift ideas for Christmas. One of these is TestOut’s Year-End Blowout Sale.

TestOut is offering the Library Suite for a measly $595 — their lowest introductory rate ever! For less than six Benjamins you get twelve whole months of access to 15 professional courses chock-full of easy to follow training videos, section quizzes, demos, plentiful exam questions, and of course, a plethora of award-winning lab simulations so that you can practice what you’ve learned in real-work situations.

Even better is the soon-to-be inclusion of a couple of new Windows courses: Installing and Configuring Windows 10, and Configuring Windows Devices. These courses will be added to the Library Suite on December 20 — just in time for putting them in your (or someone else’s!) Christmas stocking.
