Career Resources Can Help You Get Ahead

A resource is defined as a stock or supply of assets (money, materials, staff, etc.) that can be drawn upon by a person or organization in order to function effectively. If you are wanting to land a job in a specific career, then you need to be able to function effectively. Do you know all of the resources that are available to you?

CompTIA, the leading IT industry association, recently released a list of resources that are available to propel your career. Below is a similar list including some of the highlights from the CompTIA list

Webinars: CompTIA hosts webinars quarterly. These webinars feature experts in many desirable fields of study, and they talk about a wide variety of topics. You can see a list of upcoming webinars on the CompTIA website.

CompTIA Cyberseek and Cyberstates: CompTIA is also host to a couple of new websites that can be an amazing resource. Both sites are designed to show you where the available jobs are and give you an idea of how much they will pay. Cyberseek is devoted to helping you recognize trends in the industry and location. Cyberstates offers advice for the entire tech industry.

WorkAmerica: CompTIA provides information for you to network with employers through WorkAmerica.

LinkedIN: Connect with other IT professionals who have passed TestOut Pro certifications on the TestOut Pro Certified Network LinkedIn page.

Apex Systems: A great resource for connecting IT pros to employers is Apex Systems. If you’re certified and struggling to find a job, look no further than this website.

The path to a career in IT through certification will require you to exhaust whatever resources you can find. Don’t get discouraged. Use your resources.
