Are You a Certification Bulldog?

As the philosopher and poet Sly Stone once observed, getting along is this mad, mad, mad, mad world sometimes requires "different strokes for different folks." While many of us take aim at the same goals, and often achieve them by employing largely similar means, it's likely that no two individuals get to the same place using exactly the same approach, or method, or blueprint, or what have you. Success, for most of us, requires some degree of adaptation or personalization.
Good Partnerships Get More Stuff Done

The truthfulness of the age-old expression “Two heads are better than one” is borne out by a myriad of examples. There’s everything from the fictional partnerships of Han Solo and Chewbacca, or Batman and Robin, to the real-world success of Jordan and Pippen, or Lennon and McCartney. Successful duos even include the likes of the delicious cookies and milk, or the ever-palatable peanut butter and chocolate. (Mmmm, cookies and milk.)

There are a lot of unflattering depictions of technical support and help desk employment — and employees — both in the realm of pop culture and in the world at large. The picture of surly geeks, both disdainful of and disinterested in your problem, picking up the phone or logging you into the ticket queue is so ingrained that a lot of people staring at a tech snafu would rather try almost anything else than, you know, ask the help desk for some, uh, help.
