Almost exactly six years ago, British researchers announced the creation of the first crash-proof self-repairing computer. We know what you're thinking: A "self-repairing" computer could either manufacture or correctly identify needed replacement parts, remove failed hardware, and properly install new components. As often happens, however, the headlines announcing this groundbreaking scientific leap forward exaggerated the reality somewhat.

CACQ Accreditation: A Nice Chaser for My Bitter Pill

OK! Alright. Things didn’t turn out quite the way I expected for Dub Nation. We did end up with the best regular season NBA record ever (73-9), and another MVP trophy for my man Steph. Unfortunately we got surprised by LeBron and his Cavaliers in the Finals, and the less said about the release of the Curry 2, the better. It was a disappointing denouement to a great season, but I do still have reason to celebrate — the girls’ soccer team I coach went undefeated for a third straight season. (We were a defensive powerhouse, shutting out opponents more than 57 percent of the time and compiling a goal-differential of 4 to 1.)

Show of hands, how many nerds do we have in the room today? Everyone here is a nerd, got it. Perfect. So you'll all naturally remember the scene from one of those Lord of the Rings movies where wandering wizard Gandalf and elf queen Galadriel are talking about Hobbits. When asked by the Galadriel, “Why the Halfling?” Gandalf gives one of those quintessential, life lesson responses that wandering
