It's March 14, which means that the Ides of March is nearly upon us, which is good to remember if someone asks you to attend a session of the senate at Pompey's Theater tomorrow. Also, if you live and work in the United States, then there's not very much time left to break out the abacus and prepare your income tax returns. Unless you file for an extension, the day of reckoning is April 15.

Welcome to February, what some call the year’s “cruelest month.” It’s usually cold, typically dreary and generally makes one long for spring — which is still almost two months away. According to that unusually large marmot, Punxsutawney Phil, we can expect another six weeks of winter weather. (C’mon, Phil! Don’t be such a scaredy-cat. It’s just your shadow.)

It’s 2018 and, if no one else already has, let me be the first to wish you a Happy New Year! The coming 12 months are filled with possibilities and it’s a great time to set some goals. Some of my goals include finishing my IT degree, getting regular exercise, and turning the TV off and going to bed earlier.

Wow! What a wonderful, whirlwind week we just had in Nashville, Tenn., home of the Grand Ole Opry, tasty victuals and a heapin’ helpin’ of Southern hospitality. We also had a passel of IT certification talk with hundreds of really sharp instructors and CTE directors.
