Simulation = Success

Posted by TestOut Staff on

In the late 1960s, instructors at the University of Southern California created a full-body mannequin simulator for anesthesia students to practice real life scenarios. In the 1980s, when personal computers became more accessible, aviation simulations were developed to give students a taste of real flight before ever leaving the ground. In both of these fields of study, effective training is a matter of life and death, and simulation has been the mainstay to success.

The stakes involved in the average workplace IT crisis may not be as high as those found in medicine or aviation, but proper training is still paramount. To become an effective and marketable IT professional, you must begin with a sound understanding of what you’ll be asked to do on the job. There is no better way to develop this understanding than through simulation.

For years, TestOut has provided students with the best IT simulations they could ask for. Hands-on lab simulations provide a student with real-world (or at least realistic) experience at performing critical tasks. These complex labs simulate a $30,000 hardware, software and networking workplace. When a student enters one of these lab simulations, they are taught how to configure hardware, install drivers, manage operating system settings and configure network devices. All of this is available to you at the click of the mouse on your web browser.

The IT world is beginning to figure out what the aviation and medical fields found out years ago — simulations are the best way to learn, bar none. Not only do TestOut students obtain high-caliber, comprehensive and thorough coverage of information needed to pass their exam, but they gain vital experience. Employers aren’t looking for an employee who knows things, they are looking for someone who can do things.

TestOut lab Simulations may not qualify you to prepare a patient for surgery, or land a badly damaged airplane like Denzel Washington in Flight, but they will prepare you to execute important tasks in the ever-changing tech world. If you’re not yet convinced, try TestOut lab simulations today when you sign up for a seven-day free trial.
