Are you ready for the new TestOut Linux Pro?

Posted by TestOut Staff on

The popular open source operating system Linux hit the market back in 1991. Over the ensuing 24 years, Linux’s ease of use, renowned security benefits and seemingly endless distributions have enabled it to attract an increasingly large number of devotees among end users and businesses. Demand for skilled Linux professionals is also hot! According to the 2012 Linux Jobs Report, 81 percent of recruiters say hiring Linux talent is a “priority,” 63 percent of employers seek “more Linux talent” relative to other skill areas, nearly one-third of companies offer above normal pay increases to Linux pros, and 85 percent of hiring managers say that “Linux talent is hard to find.”

Because Linux continues to evolve in wonderful and rewarding ways, so too must the necessary training.  TestOut Continuing Education is the leader in online training labs for IT professionals. That's why we've updated our Linux Pro course. TestOut's new Linux Pro – English 4.0.0 course is redesigned to keep pace with all the industry's transformation and contains everything aspiring Linux pros need to pass three (!) industry certification exams.

TestOut Linux Pro training prepares you for three industry certification exams:

  • TestOut Linux Pro certification
  • CompTIA Linux+ certification: LX0-103 and LX0-104
  • LPIC-1 certification.

The updated Linux Pro course is presented as a single course, not divided or organized based on LPI objectives, but organized to teach effectively the content TestOut has identified as important to learning Linux and passing the certification exam. To make Linux Pro training even more straightforward and easier to use, TestOut has completed impressive updates in the following areas:

  • Content
  • Videos
  • Demos
  • Labs
  • Distro
  • Practice Exams
  • HTML5

In spite of Linux’s continuous evolution, for a variety of reasons, 25 percent of all servers worldwide are still running on old distributions. Not to worry, any older content that does not need to be covered in the Linux Pro exam, or is less relevant, is still covered at the end of the course in the test prep section for the LPI/CompTIA exams.

Linux Pro – English 4.0.0 is scheduled for release on Dec. 21.
