Security Pro Training Is Your Ticket to Cybersecurity Employment

Posted by TestOut Staff on

TestOut Security Pro training is a slam dunk.If you pay attention to the NBA at all — and maybe even if you don't — then you're almost certainly aware of the historic run that the undefeated Golden State Warriors are making. The Dubs, as the sports talk raido yakkers sometimes call them, are 22-0 and haven't lost a game since June 9, when LeBron James beat them almost all by himself in Game 3 of the 2015 NBA Finals. Steph Curry is so smoking hot right now that his teammates don't even bother to get in position for a rebound when he catches the ball.

There aren't too many other things that December 2015 has to offer that are that much of a sure thing, but one of them is this: Want a high-paying IT job? Get an IT security certification. The market for highly skilled cybersecurity professionals is heating up like Steph Curry putting a foot within ten paces of an NBA three-point line — it's on fire! Eight of the top 12 certs featured in Certification Magazine's recent cybersecurity salary survey boast an average annual salary of more than $100,000.

If you'd like to get a piece of that action, then one of the best places to start is with TestOut Security Pro training. If you complete the training, then you'll earn the TestOut Security Pro cert, and you'll also be primed to tackle CompTIA's Security+ exam. The widely respected Security+ credential can open some employment doors for you all by itself. Security+ certification is a prerequisite, for example, to being employed by the United States Department of Defense.

That's not the only way, however, that Security+ can benefit your cybersecurity career. One cert often leads to another (as they say), and Security+ certification provides a strong baseline for getting more advanced credentials like (ISC)² Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). CertMag's cybersecurity salary survey found that more than 35 percent of all U.S. professionals who hold CISSP are also Security+ certified. TestOut's scenario-based Security Pro training can help you get Security+ certified in a matter of months.

Or you can take a little more time than that if you need it. The Golden State Warriors will eventually lose a game — the hard-charging Utah Jazz came within one missed shot of breaking their stride last week in Salt Lake City — but the market for cybersecurity skill is projected to remain red hot for quite some time.
