All the way back in the late 1960s and early 1970s, two crazy kids in love — actually two married corporate lawyers, but that's just not as vibey — moved from New York to Paris and a dream was born. While in Paris, Tim and Nina Zagat began to compile a list of their favorite local restaurants, keeping track of whether each was or was not worthy of future visits. The idea stuck and when the Zagats moved back to New York a few years later, they began compiling a list of New York restaurants.

Long ago in the middle centuries of the Roman imperial era, the emperor Septimius Severus died after appointing his two sons, Caracalla and Geta, to succeed him. The boys had an irreconcilable hatred of each other, and only managed to jointly rule the empire for about 11 months before Caracalla had Geta assassinated. Superheroes often discover, unlock, or inherit their powers from this or that unlikely incident that changes their destiny from pedestrian plebe to preordained protector. Peter Parker became Spider-Man after getting bitten by a radioactive spider. Clark Kent is an alien who got Superman's might from exposure to Earth's yellow sun. Fabulous secret powers were revealed to Prince Adam (aka He-Man) the day he held aloft his magic sword and said, "By the power of Greyskull, I have the power!"
Brain Scans and Certification

We've spoken out here before about the damage done — both to IT certification as a whole and to individual careers — by exam candidates who cheat to pass a certification exam. Most people in certification can probably empathize with anyone experiencing the various stresses that cause people to resort to gimmicks and shortcuts to pass an exam. Yet because of the ripple effects of cheating, a certification cheater really is the proverbial bad apple that spoils the whole bunch.
