There's a new film about Mary Stuart, better known as Mary, Queen of Scots, that's set to be released on Dec. 7, exactly three months from today. Creatively titled Mary Queen of Scots, the historical epic will feature Irish-American actress Saoirse Ronan as Mary, and Australian actress Margot Robbie as Queen Elizabeth I, who was consistently antagonized by Mary's Catholic loyalists and survived numerous plots intended to elevate Mary in her place.

Tomorrow is World Password Day. I mean, we guess it is. That's what everyone is saying, at any rate. And since we here at the IT Insights Blog are suckers for a good official or even semi-official day — or, you know, maybe we're just shameless go-alongers — we have climbed aboard the World Password Day Express, and we invite you to join us, because this train is leaving the station.

We here at the TestOut Continuing Education news desk and blog factory consider ourselves to be relatively plugged in when it comes to both the IT industry and the wider world beyond that. We try to write about current events and real-world challenges. It's probably more interesting for you to read about those things, and it keeps us both on our toes and with one ear to the ground.

Everyone, at one point, has had a moment of frustration in which they said more or less the same thing Princess Leia does during the scene in the trash compactor in Star Wars. Han Solo has just finished bawling her out, and Leia snaps, "Could be worse." What happens next is the first indication of the trash monster, followed by Han glumly stating the obvious: "It's worse."

One of the main purposes of certification is to serve as a method of lifelong learning and professional development. In addition to helping you gain knowledge and skills in the first place, certification helps you keep your professional knowledge and skills current. You need the right skills and knowledge to get that first IT job, but continually refreshing those assets is what keeps you employed.
