Linux is somewhat unique in the IT realm on account of its remarkable variation. There's a different kind of Linux for ... almost anything. Microsoft struck a memorable chord in the mid-1990s with its "Where do you want to go today?" ad campaign, but Microsoft's signature Windows OS is really just one thing to all people. It's actually Linux, with its explosive array of "distros," that has the all things to all people cachet Microsoft was hinting at.

You may have heard the expression, "It's good to be the king," which notably appeared in, but probably did not originate from, the 1981 Mel Brooks comedy History of the World, Part I. For the most part, across many centuries, the lot of kings and other rulers has generally been quite enviable, certainly when compared to the lifestyle of the average slave, peasant, subject, citizen, or what have you. As a rule, royal prerogatives tend to be a pretty sweet deal.

Hola, amigos! It’s been a while since I last posted. I hope all my followers out there in Dub-Nation had a very Merry Christmas and are planning a wonderful New Year. I know I am. Already this year we have a league-leading 31 wins, the best offense in the NBA, the best point-differential in the NBA, as well as a top-five defense.

The truthfulness of the age-old expression “Two heads are better than one” is borne out by a myriad of examples. There’s everything from the fictional partnerships of Han Solo and Chewbacca, or Batman and Robin, to the real-world success of Jordan and Pippen, or Lennon and McCartney. Successful duos even include the likes of the delicious cookies and milk, or the ever-palatable peanut butter and chocolate. (Mmmm, cookies and milk.)

Have you ever been taking a certification exam, gotten to a question that you couldn't immediately answer, and thought, "OK. So what would this look like on my computer screen?" Maybe you stare at the ceiling for a second, attempting to conjure a mental picture, or close your eyes in concentration. Many of us are kinesthetic learners, meaning that we are most successful at internalizing concepts when we can use a "hands on" approach and go through something step-by-step. It's often far more common, however, that advanced knowledge is presented in a manner that requires us to learn visually, through reading, or auditorily, through listening. If you've ever been to a college lecture hall, or purchased a textbook, then you're likely well acquainted with those approaches.
