Yesterday, March 20, was the vernal equinox, or as it is more commonly called, the first day of spring. It's been said in the past that spring is when a young man's fancy turns to love, meaning that late March and early April are, supposedly, even more ripe for romantic attachment than the middle of February. On the other hand, there are many different things to love in the world.

There are many different ways that all of us benefit from ongoing advances in the functionality and versatility of smartphones, tablets, and laptop and desktop computers. When you reflect that the weight of some early computers was measured in tons, it's clear that there's been a great deal of progress.

It's March 14, which means that the Ides of March is nearly upon us, which is good to remember if someone asks you to attend a session of the senate at Pompey's Theater tomorrow. Also, if you live and work in the United States, then there's not very much time left to break out the abacus and prepare your income tax returns. Unless you file for an extension, the day of reckoning is April 15.

Today is National Napping Day, which is apparently a thing. Google, for one, believes that it is a thing, and we direct further inquiries on the subject to this excellent article from the Miami Herald. Essentially, we're all tired from jumping the clocks forward after the start of Daylight Savings Time, so a guy and his wife thought that there should be a day to recognize the importance of rest.
