Too Much of a (Some) Thing

How was everyone's Thanksgiving? Did you all pack on a pound or two during the once-a-year indulgence of in excess of good food and fantastic deserts? We only do this once per year, right? Smorgasbord City is a nice place to visit, but nobody ever moves in. Everyone is savvy enough to know that we can't just turn every holiday or festive occasion from now until March into an excuse to gorge on calorically dense edibles. Right?

Black is the absence of visible light; an achromatic color; a symbolic representation of evil, or mourning, or authority (think religious or judicial robes); a philophical boundary; the most common hue of the printed word; and even a longstanding racial and ethnic identifier. That's a lot of responsibility for a single word to shoulder. And somehow or other, in recent years, black has also come to represent huge savings.

Steer Clear of Surprises

Life is full of surprises. It's not that there's one surprise after another, all day every day, of course. Most of the time, we have a general idea what to expect out of each new day and there aren't a whole lot of crazy variations or breathtaking revelations. Humans are creatures of habit and we actually spend a fair amount of time building predictability and familiarity into whatever constitutes the daily routine for each of us.

From the Breaking News desk, we bring you an update on the status of Qatar Airways flight QR-962 from Doha (the capital city of Qatar) to Bali (in Indonesia). Earlier today the flight crew elected to make an unplanned stopover in Chennai (in India) when an unidentified female passenger flew into a rage upon discovering, after accessing her sleeping husband's smartphone, that said husband had allegedly engaged in extramarital shenanigans.
