Tomorrow is World Password Day. I mean, we guess it is. That's what everyone is saying, at any rate. And since we here at the IT Insights Blog are suckers for a good official or even semi-official day — or, you know, maybe we're just shameless go-alongers — we have climbed aboard the World Password Day Express, and we invite you to join us, because this train is leaving the station.

Today is National Napping Day, which is apparently a thing. Google, for one, believes that it is a thing, and we direct further inquiries on the subject to this excellent article from the Miami Herald. Essentially, we're all tired from jumping the clocks forward after the start of Daylight Savings Time, so a guy and his wife thought that there should be a day to recognize the importance of rest.

The IT Insights blog is taking the day off, in honor of Presidents Day. We will be back on Wednesday, Feb. 21. Among his many other admirable qualities, former President Abraham Lincoln of "these United States" is often admired for his well documented sense of humor and fondness for jokes. There's a popular, probably apocryphal story that connects Lincoln and his keen wit to the five-dollar bill long before his face became permanently affixed to that particular mainstay of U.S. currency.

It was huggable movie icon and didactic raconteur Forrest Gump who uttered the immortal words: "Mama always said life is like a box of chocolates. Anything that tastes sweet makes you fat." Hmm. Or maybe it was, "Life is like a box of chocolates. Either someone else eats all the good ones, or you leave it out in the sun and it melts. And then you're like, 'That box of chocolates cost me $19.99.' "
