IT Insights Blog — Holidays

The IT Insights blog is taking the day off, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We will be back on Wednesday, Jan. 17. Here at TestOut Continuing Education, we often encourage IT professionals and other learners to do something for themselves.

It's kind of a funny time to be talking about wrapping things up, finishing them off, writing "The End," moving on, bidding adieu, lighting a match and walking away, and so forth. We just barely kicked off 2018, after all. The "New Year" smell — sort of like the much-loved "new car" smell — hasn't even worn off, yet. Come on, now. Is anybody really in an "all good things must end" frame of mind?

Greetings, faithful readers. How is everyone's holiday shopping going? There are still few days to hustle and bustle before the gift-giving zero hour, but you'd better get over to the mall, or put that Amazon Prime membership to work, pronto. Oh, and by the way, we got something for you! With 2018 nearly here, we've combed through the archives and identified the 10 Most Popular Posts to the IT Insight Blog of the past 12 months.

Like a lot of other skilled professionals, many IT workers are probably somewhat going through the motions around the office right now. Everyone is taking it easy, passing out gifts to coworkers, dressing up for the company Christmas party, and sort of generally running out the clock on 2017. There will be plenty of time for all of us to relocate the grindstone and get our noses back where they belong in January.

How was everyone's Thanksgiving? Did you all pack on a pound or two during the once-a-year indulgence of in excess of good food and fantastic deserts? We only do this once per year, right? Smorgasbord City is a nice place to visit, but nobody ever moves in. Everyone is savvy enough to know that we can't just turn every holiday or festive occasion from now until March into an excuse to gorge on calorically dense edibles. Right?
